Meet Katie & Kassidy: Exercise science

Katie & Cassie

Katie: My current role is that I am a full time graduate student at Palmer College of Chiropractic- Florida here in Florida. I am getting my doctorate degree in chiropractic and usually my day consists of going to class from 7:30 to 4:30 just because I am at the beginning of my doctorate program and it is very, very science heavy right now. But we are starting to do more hands on work and doing technique and palpation skills with each other.

Kassidy: In my current role as a full time graduate student at the University of Michigan-Flint, I'm a dual doctorate in physical therapy and masters of business administration (MBA). My current day in the life consists of working as student physical therapist during my full ten week and full time clinical in Ann Arbor at Michigan. I'm working with sports based ortho patients right now, so most of my day is working with them, going home, tutoring, and then reviewing material for the next day to set my patients and myself up for success.

Kassidy: I have always had a passion for movement, exercise, health, and I actually ended up shadowing both an athletic trainer and a physical therapist. Afterwards I decided to become a physical therapist.

Kassidy: The professors. We truly felt each professor made us comfortable to ask questions and for help.

Katie: They also pushed us to do more. Like Dr. Tim Michael, our advisor for both of our theseses.

Katie: Both of us have future goals of graduating with our doctorates and becoming successful. The one super big goal that we have is later on, open up a clinic together as sisters.

Kassidy: That clinic would be focused on overall healthy living, preventative care movement and your body's overall physical function is something we will strive at.

Katie: 蜜桃社区 allowed us the time and extracurricular activities that let us have those leadership roles we now have in grad school.

Kassidy: And the education we received at 蜜桃社区 laid the foundation for both of our careers.
