Meet John: Educational and instructional technology (M.A.'22)

Wagner

Media Arts Teacher at Education for the Arts through Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA).

My time at 蜜桃社区 gave me a deeper understanding of educational principles along with effective strategies for using them in my classroom. Many of my classes had information that was directly applicable to my current classes as well as inspiring me to adapt for the future.

I have deep personal interests in technology and felt that 蜜桃社区鈥檚 program would help me align that with my professional educational obligations.

I had a wonderful time in the program. The asynchronous nature of all my classes allowed me to dedicate the necessary time to content while conforming to my other obligations.

I primarily worked with Dr. Brian Horvitz but also had classes with Dr. Eric Archer, Dr. Joseph Kretoviks, and Dr. Louann Bierlein Palmer.

If someone is interested in improving the current teaching through the use of technology or simply looking to have a deeper understanding of the role technology plays in learning then this is a great program.

The best part of my career is being a part of my students' growth as artists. I can hardly express the joy that comes from helping them navigate new techniques to express their unique stories. The combination of artistic expression with modern technology is such an exciting place to explore.
