Dr. Brian Gogan is a professor of rhetoric and writing studies in the Department of English at ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø Michigan University, where he also directs the first-year writing program.
His research has appeared in College Composition and Communication, the Journal of Business and Technical Communication, the Journal of Writing Analytics, and Rhetoric Review, among others. His first monograph, Jean Baudrillard: The Rhetoric of Symbolic Exchange, was published by Southern Illinois University Press in 2017. Work on two edited collections—one focused on the generative artificial intelligence prompt genre and one focused on autoethnography—is underway.
Gogan teaches courses in professional writing, rhetorical criticism, and college composition. His work in the classroom was recognized with ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø Michigan University's Distinguished Teaching Award in 2021.
