General summary
Provides leadership in the daily operations of the Children鈥檚 Trauma Assessment Center. Provides direction and training to clinicians. Leads statewide and local trauma training.
Major duties
- Provides leadership in daily operations of the center, including triaging children鈥檚 needs and assisting in supervision of clinicians conducting assessments, scoring neurodevelopmental tools and integrating information into trauma assessment reports.
- Provides direction to other clinicians, including conducting testing and performing psychosocial interviews. Ensures clinicians are prepared for each assessment. Redirects psychosocial interviews if necessary.
- Conducts clinical trauma assessments and provides follow-up advocacy. Determines who meets criteria for trauma assessments.
- Leads statewide and national training on trauma screening, trauma assessment and secondary traumatic stress. Supervises new trainers and ensures contract requirements are being met.
- Manages implementation and training of state contracts. Collaborates with state officials in order to coordinate target areas and ensure success of the contract.
- Assists in developing and implementing the centers strategic plan, budget decisions and personnel issues.
- May serve as a liaison to the University community in supervising implementation strategies for trauma screening and trauma assessment.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Required other
- Licensure as a Master-level Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Michigan.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
