General summary
Manages the Esports program and arena to support recruitment, retention, and meaningful student experiences. Administers and supports Esports events, operations, and revenue generation.
Major duties
- Oversees day-to-day operations for program facilities including arena, practice, competition spaces, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
- Administers Esports activities and live events including, but not limited to competitions, summer camps, and rental events.
- Ensures the safety of participants and the security of Esports arena equipment. Develops and monitors risk management procedures, protocols, and trainings.
- Makes purchase and budget recommendations regarding Esports programs. Assists with securing sponsorships for the Esports program.
- Responds to all inquiries received from social media and University web pages.
- Reviews and analyzes new and current programming. Makes recommendations for additions and modifications to meet client needs.
- Recruits students to participate in the Esports program and coaches teams.
- Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and student employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One years’ relevant experience in related field.
- Knowledge of risk management and facility management.
Required other
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification(s) must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekend and holiday rotation.

- Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.

- First Aid/CPR instructor certification.
Physical requirements
Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
