General summary
Manages the business and administrative functions of the department. Prepares and manages budgets and other administrative tasks while ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
Major duties
- Oversees administrative functions and strategic planning, such as the maintenance of department budgets. Collaborates with internal and external partners on the creation of budgets to ensure integrity of the financial operations. Oversees contract negotiations.
- Serves as a liaison for the department.
- Coordinates meetings, schedules, and travel or logistical arrangements. Prepares internal and external communications including analyses and reports.
- Provides customer service and resolves complex and sensitive problems. Handles complaints by tracking, responding, and possibly delegating as needed. Supports the department with document processing.
- Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Budget management including fiscal analyses.
- Proficient with office software, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
- Solid teamwork skills.
- Commitment to excellent customer service.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
