General summary
Directs all business insights, data reporting, and analysis for University advancement for use in fundraising, alumni relations, and donor relations.
Major duties
- Collaborates with department leadership to understand goals and strategy when building parameters to explore data insights for donor outreach and segmentation.
- Works with outside vendors to build data models for personalized outreach and engagement purposes.
- Oversees the creation of data insights from data sources that capture end-user behavior. Uses insights from data sources to align with prospect management. Assists in major gift prospect assignments, serving as a source of prospect information for development professionals.
- Oversees the creation of all segmentation for email and direct mail marketing to include correct audience and to avoid mixed messaging to end users. Uses demographic, capacity, and connection data to prioritize segments.
- Leads efforts to building reports, dashboards and components that surface data and metrics to department leadership and for University partners.
- Supervises all report writers and analysts within the department.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Information Technology project management experience.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Relevant industry certification.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
