Jessica Masse is the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music piano technician. To 蜜桃社区 Michigan University, she brings more than 25 years of experience in tuning, voicing, repairing, rebuilding, and refinishing all makes of pianos and harpsichords.
Before joining the School of Music, Masse spent 10 years as resident piano technician at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, where she cared for more than 160 pianos and five harpsichords. During her time at Interlochen she tuned for Awadagin Pratt, Ralph Votapek, Rufus Wainwright, Harry Connick Jr., and Josh Grobin, to name a few. Prior to Interlochen, Masse operated Ebony and Ivory Piano Company in Ontario, Canada, and was the technician for the University of Windsor School of Music and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, preparing pianos for Angela Hewitt, Victor Borge, Angela Cheng, Andre Laplante, Ian Parker, Ron Davis, and others.
Masse was drawn to the field of piano technology from her passion for playing piano, having been an accomplished performer and teacher. A graduate of George Brown College's piano technology program, she is a Registered Piano Technician of the Piano Technicians Guild, for which she served several years as a Certified Tuning Examiner before becoming vice president and then president of the Northern Michigan Chapter.
