KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) awarded a 2021-2022 Superior Merit Award to 蜜桃社区 Michigan University鈥檚 Society for Excellence in Human Resources chapter. The award honors the chapter for providing superior growth and development opportunities to its student members.

The SHRM Student Chapter Merit Award program encourages the development of more effective student chapters and distinguishes outstanding activities and projects. Chapters are recognized based on operations, chapter programming and professional development of members, support of the human resource profession and SHRM engagement.

鈥淭he members of our SHRM student chapters represent the next generation of HR leaders, and it鈥檚 critical to highlight the instrumental role they play in SHRM鈥檚 success,鈥 says Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM president and CEO. 鈥淭he hard work of the Society for Excellence in Human Resources shows the future of the profession is, indeed, in good hands. I applaud the chapter鈥檚 accomplishments and ability to foster innovative programming, development and interest in HR as we navigate changing workplaces.鈥

SHRM student chapters have the opportunity to earn an award based on the number of activities they complete during the merit award cycle, the most recent of which lasted from May 1, 2021, to April 30, 2022.

鈥淚 am so proud of the 2021-22 SEHR officer group,鈥 says Dr. Christina Stamper, professor of management. 鈥淭he past few years brought challenges for student organizations in planning and implementing valuable professional development activities through the unexpected and changing demands of the pandemic. Lauren Pytlak, Nick Michaud and other key executive board members did a fantastic job maintaining the meaningful programming that SEHR members have come to expect, resulting in the SHRM Superior Merit designation. SEHR has received this award every year since 2016, which is a testament to the dedication and level of quality of our HR students year after year.鈥
