Houshyar shares engineering expertise in Uzbekistan as Fulbright Specialist

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥Dr. Azim Houshyar, chair of 蜜桃社区 Michigan University鈥檚 Department of Industrial and Entrepreneurial Engineering and Engineering Management, has been awarded a highly competitive Fulbright Specialist Award from the U.S. Department of State. He is one of more than 400 U.S. citizens who share expertise with host institutions abroad through the Fulbright Specialist Program each year.

Houshyar completed a project with the Republic Design Institute 鈥淯zEngineering鈥 in Uzbekistan, sharing his expertise in industrial and systems engineering through lectures at numerous universities in Uzbekistan; masterclasses for industrial and systems engineers; and workshops with the Uzbekistan Association of Engineering Consultants. The series of events aimed to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships benefiting participants, institutions and communities both in the United States and overseas through a variety of educational and training activities within the field of engineering education.

In addition to his role as chair and professor at 蜜桃社区, Houshyar has worked as a consultant and conducted workshops and training for Fortune 500 companies, assisting companies in the United States, Germany, Czech Republic, Iran, Portugal, Canada and Mexico. He has served as editor-in-chief of International Journal of Modelling and Simulation and as an editor for International Journal of Engineering Research and General Science.
