Sports coaching master's program one of 13 accredited by national organization
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø Michigan University's master's degree in sports coaching has again met rigorous standards to be reaccredited by the National Committee for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE), an accrediting body for sports coaching education programs. ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø's program is one of just 13 universities in the nation to be accredited by the NCACE.
The NCACE evaluates a program's educational materials for merit and adherence to a common set of standards for sport coaches in order to receive accreditation. The process ensures that students in these accredited programs are equipped and prepared for future coaching careers.
"Receiving reaccreditation is a testament to the continued high-quality of our sports coaching program," says Dr. Zeljka Vidic, associate professor and program coordinator. "Being accredited the NCACE also provides us with national recognition and brings attention to the work being done."
Vidic adds, "prospective students of the program can look forward to receiving an education that meets rigorous national standards and provides them with the necessary skills to succeed."
