financial assistance

The Department of Political Science offers teaching and research assistantships on a competitive basis to qualified students each year. Assistantship stipends are competitive and include tuition remission. Graduate assistants typically work with faculty members conducting research or teaching undergraduate classes. Consideration for an assistantship is contingent upon admission to one of our graduate programs.

For new students, indicate that you are applying for an assistantship while completing the admissions application. For current students, complete the department application for graduate assistantship. Or if you prefer to complete the application via  PDF document or Word document. Additional financial aid opportunities may be available through the Graduate College.

Deadline: Feb. 1 to be considered for financial assistance for the following academic year. There is only one application deadline per year and funding support starts with the fall semester.
