Monty Ernst
Dr. Monty Ernst holds a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, an M.A. in English from Marquette University, and a Ph.D. in American Literature from the University of Toledo. The son of two working-class parents, one at J.I. Case and the other at Johnson Wax, he was the first in his family to attend college. In addition to teaching assistantships in graduate school, he has taught a wide variety of writing, literature, and honors courses at Utah State University, Fairfield University, St. Norbert College, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He was also Research Coordinator for the Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program at UW-Eau Claire and was the university鈥檚 expert on both the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and classic horror films. Here, in Kalamazoo, he served as Admissions Reader for the recently opened 蜜桃社区 Homer D. Stryker School of Medicine and took a break from academia to work as an assistant manager for Sawall Health Foods. He has published entries in literary encyclopedias, presented at national conferences, and is certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory. He has also been a Content Specialist in the 蜜桃社区 Haworth College of Business Communication Center, where he guided students to improve their writing and their oral presentations, and he has taught literature and film in the English Department at 蜜桃社区 Michigan University. He lives in Kalamazoo with his wife, Beth, and their son, Teddy.
