Speech-Language Evaluation and Therapy
Welcome!
Speech and language services at the Charles Van Riper Language, Speech and Hearing Clinic at 蜜桃社区 Michigan University are provided by student clinicians under the direct supervision of faculty members from the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences who hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Referrals are accepted from any source; physician referral often is not necessary.
About our services
The Speech-Language Evaluation and Therapy clinic schedules evaluations and therapy following the semester schedule of 蜜桃社区. Evaluation sessions are typically one to two hours in length, designed to determine whether treatment services or referrals to outside agencies are necessary.
Therapy is typically scheduled for an entire semester (9-10 weeks), with 45-minute individual sessions provided 1-2 days per week.

Evaluation Fee: 120 min - $90.00
*There is a sliding fee scale available for those who qualify, please inquire for details.
Meeting your needs
Children and adults with communication disorders can benefit from speech-language evaluation and/or treatment. Our clinic provides evaluation and treatment of a wide range of communication problems including:
Speech sound production
Apraxia of speech
Oral or written language
Pragmatic/social use of language
English as a second language
Speech fluency (stuttering)
Cognitive-communication disorders (due to dementia, traumatic brain injury, Parkinsons, etc.)
Communication problems related to developmental delay or cleft palate
Swallowing disorders
Hypo/hypernasal resonance
Alternative/augmentative methods of communication

Children and adults with speech, language and cognitive-communication difficulties can benefit from our services if there is a problem with:
