Sexual Assault Prevention and Education
FIRE! is a peer education group that stands for Fighting Ignorance and Rape through Education. FIRE! Peer Educators are committed to educating students and the ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø community about sexual assault prevention, response, and support. Our mission is to create a campus culture that actively and effectively prevents and responds to sexual assault and change rape-supportive environments at ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø and beyond.
This student team meets regularly to gain knowledge about gender-based violence, sexual assault, prevention, and supporting survivors. Students learn how to present on these topics and advocate for change. FIRE! coordinates events including Take Back the Night and Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
We also provide support and resources for survivors and their friends and families through the FIRE Place.
