Associate professor selected as panelist to discuss mental health and neurodivergent students on PBS
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥Dr. Wanda Hadley, associate professor of educational leadership in higher education, will be a featured panelist again on PBS' educational show, 鈥淎 World of Difference: Embracing Neurodiversity鈥 on May 6. Her first appearance on the show was in 2021 where she discussed high school students diagnosed with learning disabilities transitioning to college. In the new episode, she will be joined by Dr. Mellisa Boduch, lead learning specialist at Beacon College and Dr. Holly Schiff, clinical psychologist at Jewish Family Services of Greenwich. This episode will focus on neurodivergent students, the umbrella of learning disabilities such as dyslexia and autism and mental health concerns that student population may struggle with.
In 2015 in recognition of the 25th year of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Dr. Hadley was recognized by the American College Personnel Association as one of the 25 scholars in the country doing research about college students with disabilities.
On May 6, she will be discussing some of the behaviors and learning adjustments for students with learning disabilities and how the college/university can support them.

鈥淎 World of Difference鈥 celebrates and supports families who are navigating the journey of learning differences. The show is produced by Beacon College, America鈥檚 first accredited college dedicated to educating students who learn differently, and airs on PBS. Episodes examine issues related to learning disabilities through conversations with experts, viewer Q&As and interviews with successful adults who overcame learning differences. Beacon College celebrated their 30th anniversary in November 2019 and Dr. Hadley was invited to present at their celebration symposium along with Dr. Alexa Posny who was the Director of Education during the Obama Administration.
