Agency-Required Training

Certain sponsoring agencies have specific training requirements if they are funding a project. Principal investigators are responsible for complying with funding agency requirements.

蜜桃社区 Policy and Procedures

NIH and NSF Training Requirements

Both the National Institute of Health and National Science Foundation require training on the responsible conduct of research for all sponsored projects. Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative offers this course.

NIH Additional Requirements

NIH requires that all trainees, fellows, participants and scholars receiving support through any NIH training, career development award (individual or institutional), research education grant or dissertation research grant receive instruction in responsible conduct of research on all projects.

NIH recognizes that instruction in responsible conduct of research occurs formally and informally in educational settings and that informal instruction occurs throughout the research training experience. Substantial face-to-face discussions among the participating trainees, fellows, scholars and participants; a combination of didactic and small-group discussions (e.g., case studies); and participation of research training faculty members in instruction in responsible conduct of research are highly encouraged. While online courses can be a valuable supplement to instruction in responsible conduct of research, online instruction is not considered adequate as the sole means of instruction in some cases.

Contact the associate director of research compliance to identify 蜜桃社区 resources available to help meet the face-to-face NIH requirements if applicable.
